Ajinkya Deo

Ajinkya Deo, born January 17, 1964, hails from one of Marathi cinema’s most enduring dynasties. His parents Ramesh Deo and Seema Deo are both legendary in their own right, and his brother Abhinay Deo is a significant filmmaker. A Mumbai native who entered cinema early, Deo has worked consistently since the mid-1980s.

He debuted in Ardhangi (1985) and won a National Award just two years later for Sarja, establishing him as more than a legacy player. Over four decades, he’s accumulated over 85 credits across Hindi and Marathi films, becoming a stalwart of Marathi cinema. His triple role as actor, producer, and director spans both art and commercial fare.

Deo’s crossovers into Hindi productions, including 24: India and Tanhaji: The Unsung Warrior, demonstrated his range beyond regional cinema. Married to Aarti Deo since 1986, he remains active, representing that particular breed of committed character actor whose staying power outlasts industry trends.
