Akshaye Khanna is an Indian actor born on 28 March 1975, the son of the late star Vinod Khanna and one of Hindi cinema’s most quietly respected talents. He announced himself with J. P. Dutta’s war epic Border (1997), winning the Filmfare Award for Best Male Debut.
He delivered one of his defining performances as the sensitive Sid in Farhan Akhtar’s landmark Dil Chahta Hai (2001), and proved a gifted comic foil in Hungama (2003) and Hulchul (2004). Later work like Gandhi, My Father and his relish for playing sharp antagonists, as in Ittefaq and Section 375, confirmed his reputation as a character actor of real intelligence.
Notoriously private and selective, he has always let the work speak louder than any publicity.
