Anaita Shroff Adajania

Anaita Shroff Adajania is a Mumbai-born fashion stylist and costume designer who has shaped Bollywood’s most iconic looks since the 1990s. Starting as an assistant fashion editor at Elle magazine’s Indian launch in 1996, she became fashion director of Vogue India and established Style Cell, her styling consultancy. She’s best known for costumes across the entire Dhoom franchise and films like Cocktail, Love Aaj Kal, and Bang Bang, earning two IIFA Awards for Best Costume Design.

Her influence extends beyond film, she has styled actress Deepika Padukone exclusively and brought editorial discipline to an industry previously driven by intuition. Adajania belongs to a prominent Parsi family and is married to director Homi Adajania, with whom she has two sons.

She’s also an actress with walk-on roles in films like Kal Ho Naa Ho and Dilwale Dhulianya Le Jayenge. Her broader cultural impact, formalizing celebrity styling as a distinct discipline, has made her one of Bollywood’s most influential behind-the-scenes figures, even if audiences rarely know her by name.
