Arjun Kapoor

Arjun Kapoor, son of the producer Boney Kapoor and nephew of Anil, worked behind the scenes and lost a great deal of weight before stepping in front of the camera, which gave his 2012 debut Ishaqzaade a harder edge than the usual star-kid launch. He arrived as a brooding, slightly rough-around-the-edges leading man.

The films since have been a mixed run, Gunday and 2 States landing, others less so, and he has been unusually candid in interviews about the professional slumps and the personal toll they took. Ki and Ka, in which he played a househusband, was one of the more interesting swings. Singham Again folded him into Rohit Shetty’s cop universe.

He is a constant on the Mumbai social scene and, through his relationship with Malaika Arora, a frequent paparazzi headline in his own right. Our cameras see him often.
