Ashneer Grover was born in New Delhi on June 14, 1982, to a Chartered Accountant father and teacher mother. He graduated from IIT Delhi before earning an MBA from IIM Ahmedabad, where he was selected as an exchange student to France and received a scholarship from the French Embassy.

In 2006, he joined Kotak Investment Banking as Vice President, followed by roles at Grofers, PC Jeweller, and American Express. He co-founded BharatPe in 2018, a digital payments fintech startup, serving as Managing Director until his resignation in February 2022 following a board audit into his conduct.

Grover gained recognition as an investor on Shark Tank India, known for his candid approach and sharp business judgment. He began hosting the reality series Rise and Fall in 2025, streaming on Amazon MX Player and Sony Entertainment Television. He is married to entrepreneur Madhuri Jain Grover and has two children.
