Badshah

Badshah, an engineer by training, helped drag Indian hip-hop out of the underground and straight into the wedding playlist. He started alongside Yo Yo Honey Singh before going solo, and then spent a decade making the kind of glossy, hook-heavy party anthems that soundtrack half the sangeets in the country.

Whatever the hip-hop purists think of the commercial turn, the numbers are hard to argue with: songs like Paagal broke YouTube records on release, and his features became a shortcut to a hit for half of Bollywood. He has since branched into producing, entrepreneurship and reality-show judging, building a brand well beyond the bars.

Flashy by design and comfortable in front of a lens, he is a reliable paparazzi presence at launches and events. Our cameras rarely miss him.
