Barun Sobti

Barun Sobti is an Indian actor born on 21 August 1984 in Delhi, into a Punjabi family, who spent seven years as an operations manager before acting. That late start belies one of the more respected careers to come out of Hindi television.

He became a household name as the brooding tycoon Arnav in StarPlus’s Iss Pyaar Ko Kya Naam Doon?, one of the genre’s most iconic romances. Rather than milk that fame, he moved to streaming, drawing wide acclaim as the haunted investigator Nikhil in the thriller Asur and winning a Filmfare OTT award for the Netflix crime drama Kohrra.

Understated and choosy, he has quietly become a byword for quality among Indian screen actors. He married his school sweetheart Pashmeen Manchanda in 2010, and the couple has two children.
