Bhagyashree is an Indian actress born on 23 February 1969, forever associated with one of Hindi cinema’s most iconic romances. She became an overnight sensation opposite Salman Khan in Sooraj Barjatya’s blockbuster Maine Pyar Kiya (1989), winning the Filmfare Award for Best Female Debut.

Rather than capitalise on that stardom, she largely stepped back after marriage, appearing mainly in films alongside her husband before returning to selective character roles in recent years, including work in Telugu cinema and Hindi films.

She married businessman Himalaya Dassani in 1990, and their children, Abhimanyu and Avantika Dassani, are both actors.
