Biswapati Sarkar

Biswapati Sarkar helped invent what Indian streaming looks like, several years before anyone called it that. Born in Rourkela to a Bengali family and an MSc in statistics from IIT Kharagpur, he joined The Viral Fever, founded by his college senior Arunabh Kumar, and became its executive creative director and writer.

TVF Pitchers and Permanent Roommates are the credits that matter. Both landed when Indian audiences had no real habit of watching long-form video on the internet, and both created one. Kaala Paani followed on Netflix, and he has written films too, Jaadugar and Fighter.

He is also Arnub, the deadpan parody of Arnab Goswami in Barely Speaking with Arnub, a sketch series that somehow got Shah Rukh Khan, Ranveer Singh, Anil Kapoor, Nawazuddin Siddiqui and Arvind Kejriwal to sit across from him and play along.

He now co-runs Posham Pa Pictures with Sameer Saxena, Amit Golani and Saurabh Khanna.
