Deepak Dobriyal

Deepak Dobriyal is an Indian actor born on 1 September 1975, one of Hindi cinema’s most respected character performers. After years of theatre and struggle, he made his mark with a searing turn as Rajju in Vishal Bhardwaj’s Omkara (2006).

He became a household face as Pappi, the loyal sidekick in Tanu Weds Manu (2011) and its 2015 sequel, repeatedly stealing scenes from the leads and earning wide critical praise. He has since delivered memorable supporting work in Hindi Medium (2017) and Angrezi Medium (2020), and has won multiple awards across Hindi and Marathi cinema.

Known for disappearing completely into his roles, he is a reliable sign of quality in any ensemble.
