Dheeraj Dhoopar is an Indian television actor and model born on 20 December 1984, into a Punjabi Hindu family, who came to acting via an unusually roundabout route: fashion design, over a hundred commercials, and a stint as airline cabin crew.

He built his fame on two big serials, first as Prem in Sasural Simar Ka, then, most memorably, as the brooding Karan Luthra in Zee TV’s Kundali Bhagya, a role that won him Gold and ITA awards for Best Actor. He remains one of the highest-profile leading men of Hindi television.

Polished and consistently among the genre’s most popular heroes, he has parlayed a modelling career into lasting soap stardom. He married actress Vinny Arora in 2016, and the couple has a son.
