Dibyendu Bhattacharya

Dibyendu Bhattacharya is an Indian actor born on 11 November 1975 in Kolkata, working across Hindi and Bengali cinema and a familiar face of the streaming era. A National School of Drama alumnus, he made his film debut in Mira Nair’s Oscar-nominated Monsoon Wedding (2001).

He drew notice as the eunuch Chunni in Anurag Kashyap’s Dev.D (2009), and has since become a go-to for morally complex character roles, memorably as the tormented officer in Undekhi and in Criminal Justice. His turn in the survival thriller Kaala Paani brought him to a fresh audience.

Consistently understated and precise, he is the kind of actor whose presence signals a series means business.
