Born in Mumbai on 2 November 1981, Esha Deol is the daughter of Bollywood icons Dharmendra and Hema Malini. She made her acting debut in Koi Mere Dil Se Poochhe (2002), winning the Filmfare Award for Best Female Debut, and went on to anchor commercially successful action thrillers including Dhoom (2004), Dus (2005), and Kaal (2005), as well as the comedy No Entry (2005).
Beyond acting, Deol is an accomplished classical dancer trained in both Bharatanatyam and Odissi forms. She authored the parenting guide Amma Mia! in 2020 and continued her career into digital platforms, appearing in the web series Rudra: The Edge of Darkness (2022) and Hunter Tootega Nahi Todega (2023) following earlier hiatuses from mainstream film.
Deol was married to businessman Bharat Takhtani from 2012 until their separation in February 2024, with whom she has two daughters. She maintains selective involvement in entertainment projects while maintaining a private family life.
