Faisal Malik is an Indian actor and producer born on 18 February 1980 in Prayagraj, whose late-blooming success has become one of the industry’s favourite underdog stories. He spent years behind the scenes as an assistant director and line producer, and endured real hardship, before the camera found him.
He began on screen with a supporting role in Anurag Kashyap’s Gangs of Wasseypur (2012), but nationwide affection came with his role as the gentle, comic Prahlad Pandey in Amazon Prime Video’s beloved series Panchayat, which turned him into an unlikely fan favourite.
