Gaurav Khanna is an Indian television actor born on 11 December 1981 in Kanpur, Uttar Pradesh, who left a marketing job in IT to act. He worked steadily for years, including a long run on the crime series CID, before the role that changed everything.
That role was Anuj Kapadia in the mega-hit Anupamaa, which he played from 2021 to 2024 and which won him an ITA Award for Best Actor and enormous popularity. He capped that run in 2025 by winning both Celebrity MasterChef India and Bigg Boss 19.
A patient, long-serving actor whose breakout came after two decades of work, he is now among television’s most bankable leads. He married actress Akanksha Chamola in 2016.
