Gurmeet Choudhary is an Indian actor and martial artist born on 22 February 1984 in Bhagalpur, Bihar, into an Army family, who trained in hotel management before turning to modelling and acting.

He first gained fame as Rama in the 2009 television Ramayan, opposite Debina Bonnerjee’s Sita, then reached a wider audience as Maan in Geet – Hui Sabse Parayi. A strong dancer and physical performer, he won Jhalak Dikhhla Jaa 5 and made his Bollywood debut in the horror film Khamoshiyan.

Fit, driven and a repeat reality-show competitor, he parlayed soap fame into a broader film and stunt-TV career. He married his Ramayan co-star Debina Bonnerjee in 2011, and the couple has two daughters.
