Himanshu Soni

Himanshu Soni is an Indian television actor born on 1 February 1988 in Jaipur, Rajasthan, who has made a career of playing gods, sages and emperors on Indian television. His breakout came in 2013, chosen from some 300 hopefuls to play the Buddha.

For that role in Buddha – Rajaon Ka Raja he studied Buddhist scriptures and trained in martial arts, riding and Vipassana meditation, a preparation that set the tone for later parts as Krishna in Radhakrishn and Rama in Ram Siya Ke Luv Kush. He also starred in the historical comedy Tenali Rama.

Serious and immersive in his approach, he has become a go-to face for India’s mythological and period dramas. He married actress Sheetal Singh in 2015.
