Ishita Dutta was born on 26 August 1990 in Jamshedpur, Jharkhand, in a Bengali Hindu family. Her elder sister Tanushree is a former Miss India, setting an entertainment-industry precedent the family clearly embraced. She trained in media studies and eventually moved to Mumbai to pursue acting.
Dutta carved out a multi-language career across Telugu, Kannada, and Hindi productions. Her Bollywood arrival came via Drishyam (2015) opposite Ajay Devgn, where she played a supporting role that quietly impressed. She reprised this character in Drishyam 2 (2022), confirming her staying power in Hindi cinema.
