Jaaved Jaaferi

Jaaved Jaaferi is a versatile Indian entertainer who has built a sprawling career across Bollywood, television, and advertising since his 1985 debut in Meri Jung. The son of legendary comedian Jagdeep, he became particularly prominent in the 1990s as a television personality, earning the title “TVdom’s first real superstar” for his work on shows like Flashback and Timex Timepass, and as co-founder of the long-running dance competition Boogie Woogie.

Beyond his comedic talents and distinctive voice work, lending dialogue to Japanese game shows and animated films, Jaaferi has appeared in hundreds of films and won an IIFA Award for Best Comic Role in Salaam Namaste (2006). He has also worked as a producer, writer, and choreographer, with his song “Mumbhai” achieving chart success.

In 2014, he briefly entered politics, joining the Aam Aadmi Party and contesting the Lucknow Lok Sabha seat, though he finished fifth. He remains active across film, television, and digital platforms, maintaining a reputation for clean humor and versatile performances.
