Jitendra Kumar is an Indian actor born on 1 September 1990 in Khairthal, Rajasthan, an IIT Kharagpur civil engineering graduate who became one of the defining faces of India’s web-series boom. With no film background, he joined the digital studio The Viral Fever in 2012 and rose through its sketches and shows.
He became hugely popular as Jeetu Bhaiya in Kota Factory and as the earnest secretary Abhishek Tripathi in the beloved series Panchayat. He also broke ground on the big screen with a lead role in Shubh Mangal Zyada Saavdhan, one of Bollywood’s first mainstream same-sex romances.
Understated and relatable, he embodies the everyman hero of the streaming generation.
