Jubin Nautiyal is an Indian playback singer born in Dehradun in 1989 to a family with roots in Jaunsar. His father is a businessman and politician in Uttarakhand; his mother runs businesses. He began formal music training at age four and attended St. Joseph’s Academy and Welham Boys’ School, where he developed proficiency in guitar, piano, harmonium, and drums. He trained under Vandana Srivastava and studied Hindustani and light classical music with prominent gurus including Chhannulal Mishra.
He debuted in Hindi cinema with “Ek Mulaqat” from Sonali Cable (2014), which became a hit. His career accelerated through films like Bajrangi Bhaijaan (2015), Kaabil (2017), and Shershaah (2021). Signed to T-Series, he has recorded extensively across Hindi film music.
Nautiyal won the IIFA Award for Playback Singer (Male) in June 2022 for “Raataan Lambiyan” from Shershaah. His signature songs blend classical training with contemporary Bollywood sensibilities. He remains a prominent voice in modern Hindi film music.
