Karan Patel is an Indian television actor and host born on 23 November 1983 in Kolkata, into a Gujarati family, and raised in Mumbai. He trained in acting locally and in London before building a career on daily soaps.
His life changed in 2013 with Raman Bhalla in Star Plus’s blockbuster Yeh Hai Mohabbatein, a role that, opposite Divyanka Tripathi, became one of television’s most iconic male leads and won him three straight Best Actor Gold Awards. He later returned to television in the Kasautii Zindagii Kay reboot.
Blunt, quotable and famously unfiltered off screen, he turned one landmark role into lasting stardom. He married actress Ankita Bhargava in 2015, and the couple has a daughter.
