Ketki Dave

Ketki Dave is an Indian actress born on 23 June 1960 in Mumbai, into acting royalty as the daughter of theatre director Pravin Joshi and the celebrated actress Sarita Joshi. She came up through Gujarati theatre before films and television.

Her defining role is Daksha Virani in the landmark soap Kyunki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi, played across eight years and famous for her signature laugh, “Aara ra ra ra.” Across a career spanning more than fifty films and dozens of serials she also appeared in Kal Ho Naa Ho and contested Bigg Boss 2.

A rooted stage actress who became a soap-opera institution, she has balanced comedy and drama for four decades. She was married to fellow actor Rasik Dave, and has two children.
