Konkona Sen Sharma is an Indian actress and filmmaker born on 3 December 1979, the daughter of celebrated director Aparna Sen and one of the most respected talents of independent Indian cinema. She won a National Film Award for her mother’s English-language film Mr. and Mrs. Iyer (2002).
She built a remarkable body of work across Bengali and Hindi cinema, from Omkara and Life in a Metro to popular films like Wake Up Sid. She turned director with the acclaimed A Death in the Gunj (2017), winning a Filmfare Award for Best Debut Director. She holds two National Film Awards.
