Kusha Kapila

Kusha Kapila built an audience by being funnier about South Delhi than South Delhi could bear. Born in New Delhi in 1989, she studied fashion design at NIFT and was working as a junior fashion editor and entertainment writer at iDiva when she invented Billi Masi, a character that became a genuine internet event and turned her into a name without a studio’s permission.

That is the modern route in, and she took it further than most. Ghost Stories in 2020 was the film debut, and Plan A Plan B, Selfiee, Sukhee and Thank You For Coming followed. Forbes India has listed her among its Digital Stars.

She has also gone into business, co-founding the innerwear and shapewear brand UnderNeat in March 2025 with Vimarsh Razdan and Ghazal Alagh.
