Mahima Chaudhry is an Indian actress born on 13 September 1973 in Darjeeling, who became a prominent leading lady of late-1990s Hindi cinema. She made a dream debut as Ganga in Subhash Ghai’s blockbuster Pardes (1997), winning the Filmfare Award for Best Female Debut.
She followed it with well-received performances in Dil Kya Kare, the hit Dhadkan and Rajkumar Santoshi’s ensemble Lajja, earning supporting-actress nominations. After a long break she has returned to selective character roles in recent years, speaking candidly about her personal battles.
