Mira Rajput Kapoor is the rare fixture of the Mumbai celebrity circuit who is not an actor and has never tried to be one. Born in Delhi in 1994, she went to Vasant Valley School and read English Honours at Lady Shri Ram College. She married Shahid Kapoor in a private ceremony in July 2015, and their children Misha and Zain followed in 2016 and 2018.
That marriage is why the cameras know her face, and it would have been easy to let it be the whole story. It is not. She co-founded Akind in June 2024, a vegan, cruelty-free skincare brand built in partnership with Reliance Retail’s Tira Beauty, and she founded Dhun, a luxury wellness sanctuary in Mumbai.
So the paparazzi interest is a strange thing to watch. She is photographed with the frequency of a film star while running businesses that have nothing to do with films, and she has been notably unbothered about the whole arrangement.
