Prachee Shah Paandya is an Indian actress and trained Kathak dancer with an unlikely dual career spanning television, film, and classical performing arts. She rose to prominence through her role as Pooja Hemant Virani in Ekta Kapoor’s Kyunki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi, the soap opera that defined early-2000s Hindi television. Since her debut in 2000, she has appeared in Hindi and Gujarati films and shows while maintaining an active dance practice.
Beyond acting, Shah has built a serious reputation in classical dance. She holds a Guinness World Record for 93 spins executed in one minute and was appointed Kathak ambassador by the Government of India in 2015. She has performed nationally and internationally, making her one of the few Indian entertainers with genuine credibility across both film and classical arts.
Married to filmmaker Vishwas Paandya since 2005, Shah remains active in entertainment, recently appearing in the film Do Patti. She balances a career straddling Bollywood convention and cultural preservation, comfortable in both spaces.
