Lakshmi Rai, professionally credited as Raai Laxmi, is an Indian actress and model who predominantly works across Tamil, Malayalam, Telugu, and Kannada films. Born in Bangalore on May 5, 1989, she relocated to Belgaum as a child and began her career in modeling and advertisements before making her film debut in 2005 with the Tamil film Karka Kasadara.
Raai Laxmi achieved her breakthrough in 2008 with the action thriller Dhaam Dhoom, earning a Filmfare Award nomination for Best Supporting Actress. She subsequently became a leading figure in Malayalam cinema, delivering acclaimed performances in films like Rock n’ Roll opposite Mohanlal and Evidam Swargamanu. Her career expanded to Hindi cinema with Julie 2 in 2017.
With over two decades in the industry spanning multiple languages and more than 50 films, she has established herself as a versatile performer known for glamorous roles and strong screen presence. Her recent projects include the Malayalam film DNA (2024), where she played IG Raichel Punnoose IPS.
