For most of a decade Raghav Juyal was the King of Slow Motion, and it looked like that might be the whole career. Born in 1991, he came up through Zee TV’s Dance India Dance 3 as a finalist, then skippered teams on Dance India Dance Li’l Masters 2 and Dance Ke Superkids, and effectively reinvented the slow motion walk for an Indian audience. Enormously popular, easy to underestimate.
The acting started quietly with Sonali Cable in 2014 and did not immediately change anyone’s mind. Then Kill arrived in 2024, and his Fani, a genuinely vicious antagonist, rewired his entire public image in one film. The critical reception was the kind dancers-turned-actors are rarely handed, and it earned him an IIFA for Best Performance in a Negative Role at the 25th IIFA Awards in 2025.
He followed it with Shafiq in Farhan Akhtar’s Yudhra and a supporting turn in the ZEE5 series Gyaarah Gyaarah. The dancing has not gone anywhere, but nobody introduces him as a dancer now.
