Riteish Deshmukh is an Indian actor and producer born on 17 December 1978, the son of former Maharashtra chief minister Vilasrao Deshmukh. Trained as an architect, he became one of Bollywood’s most bankable comic stars.
He found his groove with the adult comedy Masti (2004) and the Housefull franchise, before surprising audiences with a chilling serial-killer turn in Ek Villain (2014). He has also championed Marathi cinema as a producer and star, headlining the blockbuster Lai Bhaari and launching his own regional productions.
He married his frequent co-star, actress Genelia D’Souza, in 2012, and the couple has two sons.
