Saurabh Shukla is an Indian actor, screenwriter and director born on 5 March 1963, one of Hindi cinema’s most versatile character talents. A National School of Drama-trained performer, his big break came when he co-wrote Ram Gopal Varma’s cult classic Satya (1998) and played the gangster Kallu Mama in it.
He has since become a fixture of quality Hindi film, winning the National Film Award for Best Supporting Actor as the exasperated judge in Jolly LLB (2013), a role he reprised in its sequel, alongside memorable work in Barfi!, PK and Lage Raho Munna Bhai.
Equally gifted as a writer and performer, he brings wit and warmth to comic and dramatic roles alike.
