Seema Pahwa claimed the small screen early with Badki in the Doordarshan staple Hum Log, a role that made her a fixture in Indian households from 1984 to 1985. She spent years with Delhi theatre group Sambhav before relocating to Mumbai in 1994 to pursue film and television work in earnest.
Her film career spans over 50 projects, ranging from prestige work like Godmother and Zubeidaa to crowd-pleasing fare like Dum Laga Ke Haisha and Badhaai Ho. Television gave her some of her finest roles in Khichdi and Sarabhai vs Sarabhai, cementing her reputation for comedic timing and character work.
