Shahid Kapoor is an Indian actor born on 25 February 1981, the son of actor Pankaj Kapur, who grew from a chocolate-boy debut into one of Hindi cinema’s most versatile leading men. He won hearts as the charming Aditya in Imtiaz Ali’s Jab We Met (2007).
He then chased tougher material, earning a Filmfare Best Actor award for the Hamlet adaptation Haider (2014) and critical acclaim for the drug-addled rockstar of Udta Punjab. His biggest commercial peaks came with the period epic Padmaavat and the divisive blockbuster Kabir Singh (2019).
He married Mira Rajput in 2015, and the couple has two children.
