Sharman Joshi is an Indian actor born on 28 April 1979, who comes from a well-known Gujarati theatre family and built a reputation for likeable, earnest roles. He drew notice in the comedy Style before joining two landmark ensembles of the 2000s.
He was one of the friends in Rakeysh Omprakash Mehra’s Rang De Basanti (2006) and the debt-ridden Raju in the mega-blockbuster 3 Idiots (2009), the latter winning him an IIFA Award for Best Supporting Actor. He has also worked extensively in theatre and led family films like Ferrari Ki Sawaari.
He married Prerana Chopra, daughter of veteran actor Prem Chopra, in 2000, and the couple has three children.
