Shreyas Talpade is an Indian actor, director and producer born on 27 January 1976, who works across Hindi and Marathi cinema. He made a striking Bollywood debut as the deaf and mute aspiring cricketer in Nagesh Kukunoor’s acclaimed Iqbal (2005).
He became a familiar mainstream face as Shah Rukh Khan’s friend Pappu in the blockbuster Om Shanti Om (2007) and through the Golmaal comedy franchise, as well as Welcome to Sajjanpur. He has also turned director and remains active in Marathi film.
Affable and quick on his feet, he is a reliable ensemble player with a strong comic streak.
He married clinical psychologist Deepti Talpade in 2004.
