Sneha Ullal was born on 18 December 1987 in Muscat, Oman, to a Tulu Devadiga father from Mangalore and a Sindhi mother. She studied at Indian School Muscat before moving to Mumbai with her family, where she attended Durelo Convent High School and later Vartak College.
Spotted by Salman Khan’s adoptive sister Arpita at age 17, she made her film debut in the 2005 Hindi film Lucky: No Time for Love opposite Salman Khan. The role garnered significant attention, partly due to comparisons drawn between her and Aishwarya Rai, a similarity that brought recognition but which she later acknowledged didn’t help her career trajectory.
After her Bollywood debut, she transitioned to Telugu cinema, making her regional film debut with Ullasamga Utsahamga in 2008, which became a major hit. Her 2010 release Simha opposite Balakrishna proved to be a blockbuster, establishing her as a notable presence in Telugu cinema.
