Taaruk Raina

Taaruk Raina is an Indian actor, singer, songwriter and composer born September 29, 1994 in Mumbai. He began his career in 2015 as an assistant to Aditya Chopra at Yash Raj Films before moving into theatre, notably performing in an Indian adaptation of Disney’s Aladdin. He made his film debut in High Jack (2018) and gained recognition for his portrayal of Anmol Malhotra in Netflix’s Mismatched from 2020 onwards.

Beyond acting, Raina has released independent music including the singles Sukoon, Narazi, and Kaise Banu, with contributions to film soundtracks. He is known for emotionally grounded performances and introspective songwriting, having taught himself music via YouTube before formally studying Culture Studies and Music at Monash University in Australia. He also co-hosts the YouTube channel Jumbo Jatts with fellow creator Prit Kamani.

Raina represents a generation of self-made artists working across acting, music, and digital storytelling. His work spans streaming platforms including ZEE5 and Lionsgate Play, establishing him as a multi-hyphenate performer within Indian entertainment’s younger creative landscape.
