Tony Kakkar

Tony Kakkar is an Indian singer, composer, and music director whose catchy pop hits have found particular favor with Gen-Z audiences. Born 9 April 1984 in Rishikesh, he grew up in a musically accomplished family, his sisters Neha and Sonu Kakkar are playback singers. The siblings performed at jagratas in Delhi before relocating to Mumbai in 2004, where he began formal training in music composition.

His Bollywood debut came in 2012 as a music director for Mr. Bhatti on Chutti, launching simultaneously as a singer with “SRK Anthem.” Breakthrough success followed with the party anthem “Coca Cola” from Luka Chuppi and the love song “Dheeme Dheeme,” both earning Mirchi Music Award nominations in 2019. His style prioritizes accessible melodies and mainstream appeal.

In 2014, Kakkar co-founded Desi Music Factory, a record label that reflects his position as a prolific producer of contemporary Indian pop. His work has established him as a consistent fixture in Bollywood music and streaming platforms, though critical reception of his output remains decidedly mixed.
