Tridha Choudhury has worked in three languages and came in through a contest, which is a route almost nobody makes stick. Born in Kolkata, she studied at M. P. Birla Foundation Higher Secondary School and graduated in microbiology from Scottish Church College, then won the Clean & Clear Times of India Freshface contest in 2011.
Bengali cinema took her first, with Srijit Mukherji’s Mishawr Rawhoshyo in 2013. Telugu followed with Surya vs Surya in 2015, and Hindi television with StarPlus’s Dahleez in 2016.
Streaming is where the audience found her. Bandish Bandits on Amazon Prime Video in 2020 was the well-reviewed one, and Babita in MX Player’s Aashram was the one that generated headlines, a genuinely controversial show that put her in front of a very large audience whether the industry approved or not.
