Vedang Raina

Vedang Raina is one of the newest faces here, part of the crop of young actors Zoya Akhtar assembled for The Archies in 2023, the Netflix musical that served as a launchpad for several star kids and a couple of genuine outsiders. He fell into the second category, arriving via modelling and music rather than film lineage.

He followed it with Jigra opposite Alia Bhatt, a bigger and more dramatic showcase that suggested there was more range there than a teen-musical debut could show. It is early days, and the interesting question is which direction he takes now that the introductions are done. He sings, too, which the industry likes to keep in reserve.

As a rising name he is an increasingly frequent paparazzi subject around Mumbai. Our cameras are starting to catch him more often.
