Vijay Maurya

Vijay Maurya is an Indian actor, screenwriter and dialogue writer born on 1 September 1972, a versatile theatre-trained talent who works on both sides of the script. As an actor he has appeared in acclaimed films like Black Friday and Mumbai Meri Jaan.

His most celebrated contribution came with Zoya Akhtar’s Gully Boy (2019), where he both acted and wrote the film’s crackling street dialogue, winning the Filmfare Award for Best Dialogue. He also shares a National Film Award for the screenplay of Chillar Party.

Equally gifted with words and performance, he is one of the industry’s most respected all-rounders.
