A birthday dinner at Bastian Beach Club is about as visible as a private celebration gets in Mumbai, and Aamna Sharif drew the cameras on her way in. For a stretch in the mid-2000s she was one of the most recognised faces in the country.
She was Kashish in Kahiin To Hoga, the Balaji serial that ran from 2003 to 2007 and sat among the biggest shows Star Plus has ever aired. Then she did the least enviable job on television, taking over Komolika in Kasautii Zindagii Kay 2, following Urvashi Dholakia in a role that forgives nobody. She made it hers.
The dinner arrival was all ease, the look of someone marking her own night rather than working a carpet.
