Ashutosh Rana

Ashutosh Rana is an Indian actor and writer born on 10 November 1967, who became one of Hindi cinema’s most memorable screen villains before broadening into respected character work. A National School of Drama graduate, he seized attention as the terrifying serial killer in Dushman (1998), winning the Filmfare Award for Best Villain.

He followed it with an equally striking turn as a menacing transgender antagonist in Sangharsh (1999). Over the years he has softened into authority roles and dignified supporting parts in films like Raid, Mulk and the Dhoom and Simmba franchises. He is also a published author in Hindi.

He is married to actress Renuka Shahane, and the couple has two sons.
