Genelia Deshmukh is an Indian actress born on 5 August 1987, a bubbly, energetic star who won huge popularity across Hindi, Telugu and Tamil cinema in the 2000s. A former model, she made her film debut in Tujhe Meri Kasam (2003).
Her most beloved Hindi role came as the spirited Aditi in Abbas Tyrewala’s coming-of-age hit Jaane Tu… Ya Jaane Na (2008). After marriage she stepped back from films, returning years later to co-star with her husband in the Marathi blockbuster Ved (2022).
Vivacious and endearing, she remains fondly remembered as one of the freshest faces of her era.
She married actor Riteish Deshmukh in 2012, and the couple has two sons.
