Bipasha Basu spotted in the City
The cameras were waiting, and the moment delivered.
Horror and thrillers made Bipasha Basu a star, which is a strange sentence to write about someone Hindi cinema spent years underrating. The cameras found her out in the city this week, and the reaction was the same as it has always been.
She arrived through modelling and then took the genres nobody wanted to headline. Raaz earned her a Best Actress nomination in 2002, Jism followed a year later, and by the time Dhoom 2 and No Entry landed she was fronting some of the biggest releases of their years. Ajnabee, her 2001 debut, had already won her a Filmfare for Best Female Debut.
She has stepped back from regular film work, but the paparazzi interest never cooled, and a casual city outing still draws a crowd.
